About your teacher:

Shannon Powell

Shannon began to formally study French in middle school and continued through high school.   She was so fascinated by the language that she pursued it in college and spent some time studying in France.  After graduating with a B.A. in French, she began teaching high school French.  Within a few years, she decided to attend graduate school at the University of Colorado to further her studies in the language.  At that time, she also taught undergraduate-level courses in French.
Now with two small children of her own, she has taken an interest in teaching very young children.  She believes that children are ripe for learning a foreign language in their early years.  They are so eager to learn and can pick up new skills very quickly.   She was happy to find the Music Lingua program which makes learning fun.  Most of all, it allows her to combine the two things she enjoys most: children and French!
