Birgit Priester

Birgit Priester, a native of Germany, moved from Germany to Boulder in 2001. Since then, Birgit’s family has grown. Birgit and her husband, Mark, have two children, Marie (9) and Tim (6).
Birgit studied English, Mathematics and Music at Koblenz University in Germany, and taught grades 5-10 after graduating. Birgit taught for 9 years; 8 in Germany, and one year in Michigan. Birgit has the experience teaching German to native and foreign language learners. Birgit and her family speak German at home and try to include their German culture in their everyday American life. Birgit is continually amazed by the ability of children to pick up languages, even at a very young age. She loves to sing, dance, read and be silly with her children.
She is very motivated by the bilingual ability of her children, and believes that it is very important to expose children to foreign languages and cultures at a young age. She is looking forward to seeing you and your preschool or school-aged child in her next Music Lingua class.
