As a ten-year old, I remember looking at a
beautiful picture book of “Les Chateaux de France” and was so moved by the
images that I vowed that I would learn French and someday travel to France to
visit those truly amazing castles (and cathedrals) and everything else so
beautiful there.
I began studying French
in 7th grade, as early as possible, and embarked on a long love
affair (and struggle) that lasted through high school, college and beyond. I
majored in French and participated in the Study Abroad Program at the Institute
de la Langue Française. My hard work and dedication came to fruition when I
landed my first job with a French resort and tour organization. My foreign
language skills took me literally “around the world” working as a bilingual tour
guide and travel manager. Through this experience, I became fluent in French
and developed a profound love and understanding of France, its people and their
culture.
Now,
as I settle back in my home state of Colorado, with my French-born husband and
our three children, I am thrilled to embark on a new adventure, that of Music
Lingua and teaching foreign language to children and their parents. I look
forward to sharing my love of France and knowledge of the French language with
children who may some day hold that dream of speaking French and going to visit
those beautiful castles… |
