About your teacher:
Barbara Zona
My name is Barbara Zona, and I currently live in Sylvania, Ohio. I am happily married with 3 children. My interest in the French language and culture began with my 7th grade teacher who inspired me to pursue a teaching career in French. I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to live in a number of cities in France, such as Besancon and Paris, in Windhagen, Germany and in Geneva, Switzerland. My teaching experience has included private lessons, interpreting, translating, teaching for international companies, summer camps, after-school camps, and I am continuing to teach students at the elementary level. I have had the wonderful opportunity to have been trained to teach methodology from .Berlitz, Montessori, as well as Alliance Francaise. It is especially exciting to see young children learn all about the culture and language of a foreign language. In this global world we live in, this knowledge of a foreign language opens up many career opporunities for them as well as lifetime skills in understanding and appreciating many cultures. Young children are especially adept at learning a foreign language. When it is presented in a fun, educational, and musical manner, the students absorb and assimilate even quicker, and are eager to learn. It is a joy for me to present French classes to young children, and I have the support of my family in doing so.
